This MP4 uses something called a Base Media video codec, which I've never heard of. But there are also references to an AV1 codec, so I'm not sure. Can you share this video to some public file sharing site so we can test drive it on our computers? BTW what software or hardware are you using to create this video file? Is it different than what you used to create the file that is working in Premiere Elements?

You are working with one of the Motion Titles, which have a fixed duration. Can you right click and time stretch it? If not try one of the regular titles rather than a motion title.

I'd say the main issue is that your video is 9:16 (portrait) rather than 16:9 (landscape). Version 2022 is not capable ot editing portrait AVC video. I'm not sure what to recommend for converting this video. A mere conversion won't fix things. Have you tried downloading the free trial of Premiere Elements 2025 to see if it can edit this video? It is capable of editing portrait video.

Assuming you're using version 2025 of the program, you're right. The title template are of a fixed duration. But you should be able to create your own titles from scratch using the title tool on the shortcut bar in the left side of the timeline.

I think we all agree that your video is likely saved with a codec (compression system) that is not compatible with Premiere Elements. Per John T. open your video in the free download MediaInfo. Set MediaInfo's View to Text and then copy the entire report on your video and paste it to this forum. With this detailed info we'll better be able to advise you how to proceed.

If the title is permanently part of the original video, you won't be able to edit it, of course. You can on the other hand unlink the audio and video for this video and delete the video only for the title segment and create your own titles from scratch. Is that what you're trying to do?

There really is no such thing as 'freeze frame mode' so I'm not sure where you're stuck. Are you saying the timeline won't play your slideshow?

As your screenshot shows, you are working in Quick View, which has a number of limitations, particularly when it has to do with titles. If you switch to Advanced View, you'll find extra video tracks for adding your titles and text to.

These don't give me all the information I need, lw. What of camcorder is your video footage from and what is its resolution and frame rate?

Premiere Elements is not the best program to use for editing screen capture. In fact, it's one of the worst. I'd recommend CyberLink PowerDirector Ultimate. Not only does it edit screen capture but it includes screen capture software right with the program.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you saying you're capturing video at 1920x1080 or in 4K? Also, what is the resolution of the video in your camcorder? I've never heard of video at 4K that needs to digitized through a capture device.

Premiere Elements can edit 4K, but only at 3840x2160 30p. Your video capture is a very non-standard resolution. I'm not sure what would make it more editable -- or even any editor that work with that resolution and frame rate.

What are the specs (resolution and frame rate) of your source video and where did this video come from? Premiere Elements does not work with 3840x2160 video at 60 or more fps.
